Keith was only walking around the forest for a casual walk when he spotted Alexa standing sadly in front of the nearby lake. With concern, he carefully approached her.
"Alex?"
"Huh?" Alexa, seemingly startled, turned around to face Keith. "Oh. Hi.."
"What's wrong?" Keith asked, instantly noticing a lack of enthusiasm about her usually gentle voice. She sighed as she looked away from him. "Alex?"
"...d-do you think...there was another way?"
"Huh? What're you talking about?"
"A-another way to save you from H-Heath..." Alexa replied, steadily becoming more and more tearful. "I-I should've done something else...!"
"Hey, don't think like that," Keith said softly as he moved closer to the weeping girl. "You wanted to save me and secure the gem at the same time, remember?"
"I-I know, b-but..."
"Is what Professor Hastings told you still bugging you?" Keith asked as he placed a hand softly on her shoulder.
"A-a little..." Alexa whimpered, after having calmed down slightly. Keith smiled warmly as he gently wiped a tear away from her eye.
"Well...don't. I know you meant well and I'm grateful that you tried. But the main thing is we're both safe. Nothing else matters."
